Frequently asked questions
No video is found (it says "Not found")
Play the video on the page, then click "Refresh" in the popup. Right after installing or updating the extension, reload the video's page and then play it.
If it still doesn't appear, these are possible causes: a DRM-protected video, a live stream, or YouTube (none of which are supported). Sborka also can't detect a video if the page handles it only inside the page, as a blob: URL.
The MP4 I saved has no sound
For videos with separate video and audio files, the item shows "Audio" and "Video + audio merged" tags. Clicking "Save" on an item with those tags produces a single, merged MP4. If there are several audio tracks, you can choose one in the "Audio" tag.
If an item without those tags has no sound, the original video may not have a separate audio track.
It says the size limit for merging was exceeded
Saving that merges video and audio has a limit of about 500 MB for video and audio combined (because the merge happens inside the browser). Items whose estimated size exceeds the limit show a warning. Saving at a lower quality may bring it under the limit. Estimated sizes are approximate and can be off by 10-20% from the actual size.
I closed the tab while saving
The save is interrupted. The video is fetched inside that page, so keep the video's tab open until saving finishes. Open the video's page again, play the video, and start the save over. Closing the popup does not stop a save.
I see the error "Receiving end does not exist"
This can appear right after the extension is updated. Reload the video's page and try again. If it still appears, click Sborka's "Reload" button on edge://extensions, then reload the page.
I can't save because of an error such as "HTTP 403"
The host of the video may be refusing requests that don't come from its own player. Sborka fetches from the page you are viewing, so it can usually fetch under the same conditions as that page's player, but depending on the host's settings it can't. In that case, saving may not be possible on the site you're using.
How are files such as M4A / MP3 saved?
They are saved as the original file, without conversion. The file name is chosen in this order: the name specified by the server, the name in the URL, then the page title. If the file can't be fetched from the page, Sborka switches to the browser's own download, and progress appears in the browser's downloads list.
I want to choose where files are saved
The save location follows your browser's normal download settings. If you turn on "Ask where to save each file before downloading" in your browser settings, you can choose each time.
Are there videos that aren't supported?
DRM-protected (copy-protected) videos, live streams, YouTube, videos in DASH (mpd) format, and screen or audio recording are not supported.
Is my data sent anywhere?
Your browser fetches the video data directly from the host. It is never sent to the operator's servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Please note: Use Sborka for videos you own or are allowed to save. We are unable to advise on whether you may save a specific video.
