Privacy Policy

Sborka (the "Service") consists of a browser extension for Microsoft Edge / Google Chrome (the "Extension") and this website. The operator of Sborka (the "Operator") sets out below how information is handled in the Service.
Last updated: [TO BE FILLED IN] Month D, YYYY
1. Key points
- The Extension does not send your videos or your browsing content to the Operator's servers.
- Your browser fetches video data directly from the host that serves the video. It does not pass through the Operator's servers.
- The Extension contains no usage analytics (analytics) or advertising mechanisms.
2. Information the Extension handles
The Extension handles the following information only inside your browser.
- URLs of detected videos: The URLs of videos the page loads (HLS playlists and files such as mp4 and mp3) are recorded temporarily, per tab, in the browser's session storage (
chrome.storage.session). They disappear when you close the browser, and are also deleted when you navigate away from the page or close the tab. - Video data: When you start a save, the browser on the page you are viewing sends download requests to the host that serves the video. The data it receives is written to temporary files (or memory) in the browser and deleted after the save finishes (any leftover temporary files are deleted after a set period).
- Size estimation and preview: To calculate the estimated size, the Extension may send the host a request asking for the file size. For the thumbnail and preview, it fetches the first few seconds of the lowest quality. The fetched data is used only to display the popup.
- Video frames and images on the page: Only when a thumbnail can't be made, the Extension reads a frame of the video on the page, the video's poster image, or the
og:imageimage in order to show it in the popup.
This information is not sent to third parties, including the Operator. However, the server of the video host receives requests from your browser (IP address, cookies, Referer, and so on) just as it does when your browser normally views a page. This is the same as when you play the video without the Extension.
3. Permissions the Extension requests, and why
webRequest: To find the video traffic that a page loads (the content of the traffic is not read).- Access to all sites (
host_permissions, and a script that runs on all pages): To detect videos on any site and to send download requests from your browser. storage: To keep the URLs of detected videos only for the duration of the browser session.scripting: To reinject the page-side script, for example right after the extension is updated.offscreen: To run a hidden page used to merge video and audio.downloads: To save merged videos, and files that can't be fetched directly from the page, as browser downloads.
4. Future license activation (paid plan)
[TO BE FILLED IN - future] If license activation is introduced for the paid plan, the following information may be sent to [TO BE FILLED IN] name of the payment / license management service for activation: the license key, a device identifier needed for activation, and an email address (at the time of purchase). The information sent and its purpose will be stated in this section when activation is introduced.
5. About this website
This website is made up of static pages and does not track users with cookies or use any access analytics service. The hosting provider may record access logs (IP address, date and time of access, etc.) for operational purposes.
6. Provision to third parties
Because the Operator does not obtain users' personal information through the Service, there is nothing to provide to third parties. If personal information is obtained for the license activation described above or to respond to inquiries, it will be used only within the scope of that purpose and will not be provided to third parties without the person's consent, except where required by law.
