Installation (Limited Beta)

Until the extension is available in the store, you receive the files and load them into your browser manually. The steps are almost the same in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.

1. Get it and extract it to a folder

Extract the ZIP file you received to a place that won't disappear when you close the browser (for example, a dedicated folder in Documents). The folder that contains manifest.json is the one you will load.

After loading, don't move or delete this folder. The browser remembers the location it was loaded from.

2. Load it into your browser

Microsoft Edge

1. Type edge://extensions in the address bar and open it.
2. Turn on "Developer mode" at the bottom left (or top right) of the page.
3. Click "Load unpacked" and select the folder from step 1.
4. You're done when "Sborka" appears in the list.

Google Chrome

1. Type chrome://extensions in the address bar and open it.
2. Turn on "Developer mode" at the top right.
3. Click "Load unpacked" and select the folder from step 1.

For quick access, pin "Sborka" from the puzzle-piece icon on the toolbar.

Extensions loaded in Developer mode may show a warning when the browser starts. The store version does not.

3. Try it out

1. Open a page with a video and play the video.
2. Click the Sborka icon on the toolbar.
3. Choose a quality and click "Save".

If no video shows up, play the video on the page and then click "Refresh" in the popup. Right after installing or updating the extension, reload the video's page before using it.

Updating

1. When you receive a new version, extract it over the same folder (or extract it to a new folder and load that instead).
2. On edge://extensions (chrome://extensions in Chrome), click Sborka's "Reload" button (the circular arrow).
3. If a prompt about new permissions appears, review it and allow it. Depending on the version, permissions are added for a hidden page used for merging and for downloads. If you see "disabled", enable the extension again.
4. Reload the page you want to use it on.

If something goes wrong

• The popup says "Not found" → Play the video, then click "Refresh". If it still doesn't appear, reload the page and play the video again.
• You see the error "Receiving end does not exist" → This appears right after the extension is updated. Reload the video's page.

Please note: While saving, keep the video's tab open. Use Sborka for videos you own or are allowed to save.
